The Kine Centre precinct project aims to convert existing office space into 520 social housing units in the Johannesburg central business district. The heart behind this project is to respond to the growing need for social housing in and around the densely populated Johannesburg metro.

The brownfield project aims to convert, refurbish and repurpose the famous Kine Centre and Nedbank buildings into a collection of great-quality, affordable residential units.

The existing buildings form part of the strategic, spatial and socioeconomic initiatives related to inner-city living. This social housing scheme will promote inner-city living and provide convenient and comfortable housing for previously disadvantaged communities, in line with South Africa’s Social Housing Act regulations and in cooperation with mandated social housing scheme partners.
